We left the reunion early to make it to Dallin's State Championship rugby game at the University of Utah. What a great game in spite of the cold and windy weather! AND we were so happy to have a lot of our extended family there!

PACK FAMILY REUNION
We finally made it to one of the Pack Reunions...at least for part of the time!! It was fun to see so many of the family, AND to meet our "new" half-uncle, George Johnston. Loved a lot of the pictures, too!
Irma Jean, George, Izzy, Carol, and cousins Derwin and Richard Merrill
Some of the Barton cousins...
Grandfather and Grandmother Barton on the right, with 4 of the 7 children (Dan, Patrice, Matt and Dawn), and many of the THEIR children!
Food is always a big hit at a reunion!

The Living Christ - 2nd Paragraph
I hope you've all had a good experience memorizing the 1st paragraph. Here is the 2nd:
"He was the Great Jehovah of the Old Testament, the Messiah of the New. Under the direction of His Father, He was the creator of the earth. 'All things were made by him, and without him was not any thing made that was made' (John 1:3)."
When we get together for our Hunt Reunion Dinner on Sunday we'll try to recite both paragraphs together. Give it your best shot!!
Love,
Mom

CLIFF JUMPING!
To help make Nat's birthday special, Dallin invited her to go cliff jumping out at Gunlock Reservoir! The pictures tell the story! (And Nat's a great photographer!)
Natalee's 20th Birthday!
We've had fun celebrating Natalee's birthday even though things didn't go as originally planned. Our trip to Pine Valley was canceled an hour before we were going to go...so we went to Plan B, which was hang out and have fun at home. We did. Friday night Nat, Kristy and I made BEAUTIFULLY DELICIOUS hamburgers, and watched Mulan...we also had very tasty banana splits for dessert!! (Rod, Dallin and Harrision were camping at Father's and Sons Outing!) In the morning I made a good breakfast of eggs, bacon, hash browns, toast and OJ. We opened presents and did our usual Treasure Hunt. At the end of it Nat got a very nice quilt that she loved! After breakfast, we ran some errands in town, and then came home, Nat rode Silverado to the house, and we gave her a nice bath on the front lawn.
Enjoy the pics and video!

Fun at the Hunt House!
Lots of fun little things going on...Kristy and Nat are working as servers for a catering business...I watched David Jorgenson's grandkids when his daughter (Cassidy) and husband had a funeral to attend...Nat loved the new puppy Helen Halm brought over to show her...and Nat and Kjerst built a bonfire in the rain and cooked foil dinners. They were delicious!!
Chicken Coop...
We're making progress on the chicken coop! It's even been used in Harrison's birthday treasure hunt!! Thought you'd enjoy seeing some pictures of it, then I put pictures up when the whole chicken run is done!

THE MOTHERSHIP CHALLENGE. . .
Hi Kids,
Pursuant to the email I sent out, here's the first paragraph of The Living Christ, The Testimony of the Apostles. The goal is to have it memorized by May 21st.
As we commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ two
millennia ago, we offer our testimony of the
reality of His matchless life and the infinite
virtue of His great atoning sacrifice. None other has had
so profound an influence upon all who have lived and
will yet live upon the earth.
Some memorization suggestions:
On 3 different 3x5 cards, print the paragraph on one side of each card. Place one card in the bathroom, by the mirror; the 2nd card goes on the fridge door; the third car can go on the dashboard of your car, or attached to your keyring. Take one minute, each time you see the card, and say as much as you can by memory. If you will say it at least 10 times each day, you will easily memorize it within a day or two.
GOOD LUCK!!
If you want, you can post a comment on here when you have it memorized...or just send me an email.

CHICKENS . . .
So, our "little chicken" are growing at a very fast rate of speed, so it was time to do something about that...one of my students' dad offered his help in building a chicken run, so that's what we're doing! We started out building a large enclosure at the side of the house...and then a storm front blew through with a lot of wind and a bit of rain. Wasn't quite sure what the loud sound was as we were hurrying to finish up and get out of the storm. Then I noticed the long piece of sheet metal in the back of the truck had been picked up by the wind and thrown...right into the back of my car, bashing in the back windshield. Great! Found that out as I'm getting things ready for my piano students duet recital!
Then, last night we heard some strange sounds in the chicken coop area...the chickens were FLYING and getting up into the tree. It was a very strange sight! While Nat was climbing in the tree to get the chickens out, I started to clean out the waterer for the chickens. However, Dad walked up beside me just as I sloshed the water out into the dirt, and it plastered his feet with mud! He just stood there and said, "Really!?!" I felt BAD, but you couldn't tell because Nat and I were laughing so hard!!
We're learning ALL KINDS OF THINGS from these chickens!!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!
So, Friday was an emotional day for me since I couldn't be everywhere I wanted to be... Kristy graduated from Dixie State in St. George, with her English degree (but Rod and I weren't there!), and Dallin played two important Rugby games in Sacrament (and Rod and I weren't there!), and Nat was "home alone" supporting Kristy at her graduation (without her parents!),and Brandon graduated with his Masters degree in accounting from the University of Utah...AND ROD AND I WERE THERE!! I think I cried more on Friday than the rest of the year put together! We drove home from Salt Lake City at 9:00 p.m., and got home around 1:30 a.m. But it really wasn't that bad, and I was happy to be home where I felt like I could support MORE of the children! (We loved being with Brandon, Tannya, Nikki, Tann's family, and DENZEL for Brandon's graduation. WHAT AN ACCOMPLISHMENT!! I was just emotional...)
Mom's are usually emotional on Mother's Day...not me...I LOVE MOTHER'S DAY!! Dallin got in from Sacramento at 6:00 a.m., after a 13 hour drive! Ugh!! He was dead to the world until we got home from church, but at least he was home! Dad made a nice breakfast, and everyone gave me nice gifts and cards that I loved!! Dad gave me a nice surprise. . .a beautiful down pillow!! I would never have thought of that! I love it!
I had nice phone visits with Denzel, Jaimi, Brandon, and Amelia...and I really enjoyed the slideshow Amelia made me. (Hope you like it too!) I love being your mom and I love my husband and each of you kids VERY VERY VERY MUCH!!!
Love,
Mom

MY baby. . .
Yup! We do ALL kinds of things for our babies. . . wipe their noses with our fingers when a tissue isn't readily available. . .give them a drink out of our cup, not minding too much when they backwash in it. . . spit-up on our favorite blouse. . . smear mashed potatoes all around their plate and then want to be held with goop all over them. . .
So what if I feed my horse a piece of apple that was already in my mouth . . . I've had SEVEN KIDS - - THIS WAS NOTHING!!!
